Namun ada yang keliru dipahaminya, saat ego di taruh diatas respect dan loyality saat bereksperimen menguji kualitas hubungan dengan pasangan dengan hipotesa "ia sudah terbiasa dighosting dan pasti aman karena solehah"

Yang semakin tak bisa dipahami, ada semacam "konsensus" bahwa isteri pertama akan selalu jadi tempat kembali setelah lelah berpetualang. Ini seperti diberi peran khusus dalam skenario manipulatif suaminya.

Dan ini yang membuat banyak isteri bertahan karena menganggap diri lebih spesial dari isteri lainnya. Karena dampak sering di ghosting, otak memproses di area yang sama seperti kecanduan napza. Diperlakukan tidak adil pun tetap diam padahal terluka. Karena isteri ragu dengan dirinya sendiri.

This is the most famous of the direct threats to Emma Smith, with Joseph Smith telling his wife in the voice of God that she will be destroyed if she does not abide in the new and everlasting covenant, which was without question considered to be polygamy at this time.

Again this threat is directed at not just Emma Smith, but any other woman who does not allow her husband to marry and have sex with other women. But since this is being written explicitly for Emma, I’m counting this as a threat towards her since she would be included in this verse.

65 Therefore, it shall be lawful in me, if she receive not this law, for him to receive all things whatsoever I, the Lord his God, will give unto him, because she did not believe and administer unto him according to my word; and she then becomes the transgressor; and he is exempt from the law of Sarah, who administered unto Abraham according to the law when I commanded Abraham to take Hagar to wife.

This is again a warning to Emma, telling her that if she does not accept Joseph Smith’s polygamous marriages, she becomes the transgressor. In other words, Joseph Smith has written a loophole into D&C 132 that allows him to marry and have sex with women even if his beloved Emma rejects his proposals, and it actually puts the fault from the one entering into these unlawful relationships back to the faithful spouse. It’s pretty stunning that the Law of Sarah, mentioned just four verses earlier, is not only obliterated in verse 65, but that D&C 132 labels the woman who does not consent as the ‘transgressor.’ I just can’t believe I never read this as a member [of the LDS church], because it’s absolutely horrifying. Sorry for the long section here just to detail these warnings contained in D&C 132, but of the 11 threats or warnings here, 8 are directed at Emma Smith, two of them are ambiguous or indirectly at Emma Smith, and just 1 is clearly not directed at her.

In other words, when the church states that D&C 132 is a “lengthy and complex text containing both glorious promises and stern warnings, some directed at Emma,” they are being willfully misleading. They are almost entirely directed at Emma, and they go beyond stern warnings. They are outright threats of destruction if she does not accept Joseph Smith’s polygamy.

I cut out the section where the LDS Discussions blogger talks about the other seven threats towards Emma, but they’re mostly more of the same “obey me or God will destroy you” vein.

I’ve read the section of D&C 132 where Emma is called out by name before in Jon Krakauer’s book Under The Banner of Heaven, but seeing all the threats laid out like this is, like LDS Discussions says, absolutely horrifying.

Also, reading this essay made me really realize that this wasn’t just a massive emotional blow and frankly emotional betrayal for Emma, it also must have been spiritually devastating. We know she reacted to D&C 132 with anger and disbelief, that she clearly believed polygamy was deeply immoral and against the religion she’d been following from the literal start and for 15 years at this point. Like, he wasn’t just her husband, she absolutely seems to have fully believed he was a prophet chosen by God, and to have him speaking in God’s voice to threaten her with damnation if she doesn’t go along with something she finds both heartbreaking and morally repulsive...it’s just really, really sad to think about.

The NPC just says it’s been “ages” since a member of House Hresvelg attended the Officers Academy, which is very vague and leaves a lot of room for interpretation, it could just mean there’s been an unusually long gap considering Ionius’s apparent advanced age. And Edelgard never says when the visit took place or how old Ionius or Anselma were when they met. I do agree there must have been a lot of hasty rewrites late in production that left a lot of loose ends.

As I believe the same NPC is the first one to mention the dissolution of the Southern Church the implication seems to be that relations between the church and the Empire have been tense since that occurred a century prior. If he was meant to be referring to Ionius instead the context is misleading. 

My theory is that the original draft for Edelgard’s backstory included no siblings and no other consorts for Ionius. This would make Anselma and Edelgard being apparently the only members of the royal family to flee the country to escape the Insurrection less of an oddity, not to mention it would be more consistent since no other ruler or noble in the setting is known to be polygamous. But then some of the writers (presumably the same one who came up with the idea for what would become CF) added siblings Edelgard’s supports to make her more sympathetic and wrote her Goddess Tower event as a love story between her parents without putting in the work needed to have it all match up to what was already present.

So here’s a question I’ve been mulling over. Is it ever appropriate to use one of those name mash-ups like Johnlock, Spirk, Stony, etc. .... for a non-sexual relationship? Can it be short for John&Sherlock rather than John/Sherlock?

I just reblogged a rather adorable comic with adult John and de-aged Sherlock, which I tagged “Johnlock” without thinking. No implication of sexuality, I hope, certainly not in the fanwork and I didn’t mean it in my tagging - it’s just the adorable trusting comfortable domesticity I think would be of interest to Johnlockers. And if they were both too young to be into what an adult would think of as sexual, or if Sherlock had a horrible head-cold and thinking of John sexually just didn’t enter into it because he was miserable and just really enjoyed being brought a good herbal tea? That would still feel like Johnlock to me because as a Johnlock fan I’m drawn to other aspects of their personalities and lives together than just the romantic. A good Johnlock fic can actually be completely ambiguous on whether the two of them are together “like that”

But take another type of story. I vaguely remember a Johnlock fic back when I first came to fandom -- and it was labeled as Johnlock, and that seemed appropriate to me -- where Sherlock was asexual and John had one-night stands with women to satisfy his sexual needs. But they were partners in every other sense. They were emotionally intimate and emotionally monogamous, and they were each others’ partners in every sense. They lived and worked together, ate curry together, actually slept in the same bed comfortably together because Sherlock actually liked the physical comfort of another beating heart beside him. It was lovely. And definitely not moving toward the erotic. There wasn’t even a hint that something was missing here. As an asexual myself, I found it all very interesting and satisfying.

But can a story like that properly be labeled “Johnlock”? It definitely had a lot to offer John/Sherlock fans, but it wasn’t just silent on whether they were romantic; it openly contradicted that idea. If the purpose of our tags is to help authors and artists and readers/viewers connect with each other, I think we’d all be missing out if stories like that didn’t carry the label. But at the same time, it also seems a bit off, if you think about it. And if instead of John having anonymous sex, if he had another relationship with an actual character that was developed -- if this was, say, sexual and romantic John/Sarah and platonic John&Sherlock that gave us a kind of emotionally polygamous relationship between the three of them but only a romantic/sexual one with John and Sarah? For the record, I’d read the hell out of that, but I’d think to call it Johnlock would be a bit misleading. If this fic had introduced a recurring OC in the role of John’s sexual partner? If it had focused on that relationship or even on John’s need and desire for someone besides Sherlock, would I be as comfortable calling this “Johnlock”? I’m ... skeptical, at a minimum.

Personally, I think we’d all be better off if Johnlock was more expansive, if people used it for any story positively focusing on their relationship, whatever form it took. But I’m not sure if that’s how people actually parse it.
